Reason has left the culture and the educational system has undermined the ability of the population to sort out issues relating to the Constitution being Chief protector our rights, responsibilities and freedoms. Yet Congress in its infinite wisdom to continue the pull away from the Constitution has installed Kagan as a Justice of the Supreme Court. Kagan is not a protector of the Constitution but a transformer of it.
This can be seen in an excellent video on original intent and the growth of government power via the commerce clause. Evidence of her expansive views of government power are seen in her less than impressive answer about the commerce clause before Congress.
Do you not remember the ACLU and others who had fits when parents called up their schools to complain about the content of certain books their children might have to read? These garned both coverage and the undying ridicule of the media even to this very day. There is even a promotion to encourage the reading of banned books. So what has been most interesting is that the liberal darling and non-Constitutional Kagan actually argued for the banning of some books before the Supreme Court. [click to continue…]
