Ohio Mayor Nixes English

NORTON, Ohio - City Council came up one vote short of the five needed to overturn the mayor’s veto of legislation that would have declared English the official language of this small northeast Ohio city….

Mayor Joseph Kernan vetoed the proposal, which had passed council by a 4-3 vote, because he thought it would appear that the city about 40 miles south of Cleveland looked unfavorably toward people who don’t speak English.

Of course I always look to how much paper the goverment puts out in English to know how much they care! What if he doesn’t appear sensitive to those who want English as the official language? So many concerns. :)
