Time For Truth On Roe vs Wade

September 15, 2005 |

Blackmun proposed to issue a news release to accompany the decision, issued Jan. 22, 1973. “I fear what the headlines may be,” he wrote in a memo. His statement, never issued, emphasized that the court was not giving women “an absolute right to abortion,” nor was it saying that the “Constitution compels abortion on demand.”

Sen. Sam Brownback included the recent facts concerning the Supreme Court’s Roe vs Wade decision during the hearings on Judge Roberts.

“This is really troubling, too. I made up the story that I had been raped to help justify my abortion” — Sandra McCorvey.

Every Senator in Congress is well aware that the case was decided on information which was a lie. It is also of little consequence to them that the ‘intent’ of the court was ignored and probably supressed as the memo was never released. Can it be that the average supporter of abortion would believe that their side really wants what they say - Abortion: Safe, Legal and Rare?

It does not allow exceptions for abortions in cases of rape or incest ??? something Barbour says he favors. [...]
