“This is not a war of words, this is a war.”

Posted by Conservative Culture On November - 22 - 2005

Kudos to U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio) who had the courage to pass a message from the troops to their representatives. What a scene it caued. If there had been food it might have degenerated to a middle school cafeteria food fight.

Murtha response was “This is a war of words, this is a war.” Certainly he got that much correct. What he didn’t get completely right in the article is that we are not the target and enemy. Our troops have been targeted. But so have the Iraq people. The Jordan attack should provide some evidence that anyone who stands in the way of a terrorist and his goal is the enemy.

I suppose that Murth has never seen the Thank You America! videos. If only those people could be brought to the floor of the House. Then let the democrats speak. I just dare them. They couldn’t speak because they know who ugly and stupid it would look compared to the ones who have suffered far too long under real terror.

Murtha seems to like pulling out. Apparently it was his advice in Somalia.

The only real sad news is that U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt will seek to have her words striken from the record. This was reported by Fox News TV this morning.

Oh… France Still Burning?

Posted by Conservative Culture On November - 22 - 2005

Michelle Malkin is right. The dwindling attention span consumes and then forgets the news it has read. Then again, France is back to normal! So it really doesn’t surprise anyone that fires still burn.

Now what were we talking about? Oh… that’s right. The fact that France burns leaves the French government with the task of figuring out why. Of course the Muslim influence is not the cause, at least according to authorities. But then again, this is the same group that says that everything is back to normal and denies a problem.

Never mind the truth or voters

Posted by Conservative Culture On November - 22 - 2005

I am not sure it is refreshing to see. Certainly it illustrates what we have seen in the United States many times. If you can’t persuade the voters to pass something, you have three options:

    1. Get the courts to enforce it anyway
    2. Get the children to believe it is law
    3. Rewrite history

The Brussels Journal reports that since the EU’s constitution was rejected, textbooks for young students teach it as though the EU’s constitution is up and running. Amazing. Then again, one could simply consider it long term campaign material.
