Paris FATWA Issued - Finally

In Hot Time In Paris I commented on the silence of the Muslim community in regards to the violence. It certainly took plenty of time and destruction before issuing the edict against the violence. It still remains to be seen if anyone will actually listen to these leaders. If the Muslim youth already did, the violence would not have gained such momentum.

“It is formally forbidden to any Muslim seeking divine grace and satisfaction to participate in any action that blindly hits private or public property or could constitute an attack on someone’s life,” the fatwa said.

Interesting edict. I wonder if it might be published in Iraq for other interested parties. If the edict fails it might give weight to speculation that the growing violence is another front for the war on terror.
