Does it really surprise anyone that a newspaper reports on attempts to stop illegals from voting as really an effort to keep regular citizens from voting? Just look at “Voter ID Law leaves some out.”
But according to a report in The Arizona Republic, one in 10 Arizona motorists - more than 400,000 - currently hold licenses issued before that date which are not an acceptable form of voter registration identification.
Strange that so many Arizona motorists are running around with expired licenses anyway. There is a four year renewal for most drivers and an accelerated process of two years for driver over 87 years of age. As in most states, people are left out because of their own choices and actions. Adjusting the system because of potential voters lack of action only undermines the system.
Some basic questions are answered here on how to obtain a new license in Arizona.
