Welfare State - AIDS and Sex

From California where immigrants (legal or illegal) can receive funding for HIV treatment to Belgium where a mother asks for ’sex help’ for her 27 year old disabled son. The mother’s attitude about life and the government’s role in people’s lives. As the mother said:

… he is entitled to have sex at least once week,??? Frie Van Acker says.

Of course this right, according to her, is the responsibility of the government. This attitude appears to be more prevalent in the United States. How much can the government be expected to care for everyone and their needs if they for whatever reason cannot provide it for themselves? The real irony is that the resources the government is willing to make aren’t enough. The demands made might eventually be met, until the next person comes along and demands even more.

The limited resources of a government cannot keep up with the growing needs and wants of the people. Just how far is society willing to go before they say ‘enough is enough’?
