Gun laws didn’t stop criminals. Surprise!

Posted by Conservative Culture On December - 1 - 2005

All three had criminal records. And Jones and Parks, as convicted felons, were barred under federal and state law from possessing firearms.

But those laws didn’t provide their four homicide victims any more protection than the flimsy screen door the killers charged through the night of Jan. 16, 2004.

When Mayor Daley of Chicago fame fought to make gunmakers pay, you wondered whose side he was really on (that’s a tough one - not). As always gun bans only ensure that law abiding citizens don’t have guns and if they do they become criminals. In the meantime, those that could care less about life have the ability to take whosever lives they so choose as they barge through screen doors.

No more Rainbow Priests

Posted by Conservative Culture On December - 1 - 2005

For years the leadership has know about the abuse and remained silent until forced by accusations. The new rules prevent active homosexuals from serving as priests. Whether a leader in the church is an adulterer, pedophile or homosexual, the Bible is very clear that such behavior is unacceptable for any leader. What is amazing, considering all the damage done in the Catholic church already, is that the front page of the Red Eye asks if the new rule will help or hurt? Who writes these front pages anyway?

He will stop Christianity!

Posted by Conservative Culture On December - 1 - 2005

I will stop Christianity in this country,” Ahmadinejad reportedly vowed.

Certain a spiritual statement and certainly a not so veiled message for Christians in Iran to get out or risk further risks. But what is new for converts, especially leaders, among Christians in Islamic nations such as Iran. This sharply contrasts my own conversations with Muslims on university campuses who acknowledged Jesus as a good man and prophet. Of course their point of view is that Christ pointed to the Prophet Muhammad.

So it becomes obvious from their point of view that Christians who continue to ignore Muhammad also have ignored Jesus and must be apostate. On campus there was a difference of opinion. In Iran and other such nations there is a difference: one lives and the other dies.

An Iranian convert to Christianity was kidnapped last week from his home in northeastern Iran and stabbed to death, his bleeding body thrown in front of his home a few hours later. Ghorban Tori, 50, was pastoring an independent house church of convert Christians in Gonbad-e-Kavus, a town just east of the Caspian Sea along the Turkmenistan border.

Thanks to Atlas Shrugs for catching this news. Her excellent article on this is here.
