Closed For Christmas - Hardly

Posted by Conservative Culture On December - 9 - 2005

There has been so much talk about churches closing for Christmas that I had to jot down a few brief comments.

The issues raised about not many people coming or trouble with volunteers poorly frames the reason for letting families have a full day to be together. Most larger churches have been in a flurry of outreach activities, services, outreaches and Christmas services on Saturday. One of the larger churches, Southeast Christian in Louisville KY, is having services around 11 a.m. Sunday morning. All other activities are cancelled that day.

It is and ought to be a principled decision. For some, the hectic pace of the ???church??? Christmas schedule calls for time for family (supposedly a high priority among evangelicals). Consideration for them and your volunteers is important. Christ did not call men to feed the fodder of programs at the expense of spending time with both the saved and unsaved in your home Christmas day.

Let the critics say what they will. There is still freedom in Christ and no man a slave to programs to be called ???doing His will???.

Saddam - Kissing up to the Koran & Go to Hell

Posted by Conservative Culture On December - 9 - 2005

There are few people of international infamy that can give such fodder for the feeder. Saddam loses his tempter and refuses to go to court (who is the prisoner anyway?). The next moment he is kissing up the to Koran and playing to the cameras. In his next breath he will be telling someone to go to hell. Could you imagine the coverage in the U.S. if this was a leader who happen to be a Christian and did what he did?

Sobbing Witness - A “Who Me” Mugshot

Posted by Conservative Culture On December - 9 - 2005

There are just those moments you look at a headline and it strikes you in multiple ways. The Washington Times had this mug-shot of Saddam with the title “Sobbing witness recalls torture.”

The other thought that came to mind was a “Who me?” caption. The former dictator, brute and general thug is trying to look innocent of all charges. Especially since the picture of him Kissing up to the Koran.

Islamo Bomb-o

Posted by Conservative Culture On December - 9 - 2005

Muslim values are incompatible with many value systems. Even with Christian belief it is problematic due to the evangelical nature of Christianity to the tell others about their belief. In the arena of ideas and their free exchange it lives or dies in the individual’s mind. In other-words, the person can accept or reject Christianity and the Christian will not kill the other person. In the strictly Muslim nations it is expected that no conversions are allowed. Once a Muslim, always a Muslim unless you want to be pushing up daisies.

Many of the young Muslims are unwilling to become Flemish. 40% say that Islamic values are incompatible with Flemish values.

The newest converts are more extremists from cultural Muslims. The issue isn’t really whether Flesmish values (or any other values for that matter) are compatible. The question is how willing are the radical Muslims willing to allow these differences to exist. The radicalized they become the less able they are to live in a culture that is not ruled by Islamic law. Continue to watch how this develops around the world.

Iran will set the stage for future actions as they obtain nuclear weapons. How this will play out in the political and terrorist areans will certainly a definite and dramatic effect. Consider that Iran is now calling for the removal of Israel from the Middle East and put into land Germany and Austria would donate (yeah right) for this cause. If that would be end you are living in a dream land. Chamberlain learned this in WW I when he proclaimed peace in his time.
