Churches embrace withdrawl - hug radicals

Posted by Conservative Culture On December - 5 - 2005

Presbyterian groups met with Hizbullah leaders of Hizbullah.

Sheik Nabil Qauq: The American policy today is similar to an owl bringing bad tidings. All we hear from Bush are words of war, evil, destruction, killing, siege and threat. This aggressive inclination is a real danger to all monotheistic religions and it harms Christianity.

Elder Ronald Stone: We treasure the precious words of Hizbullah and your expression of goodwill towards the American people. Also we praise your initiative for dialogue and mutual understanding. We cherish these statements that bring us closer to you. As an elder of our church, I’d like to say that according to my recent experience, relations and conversations with Islamic leaders are a lot easier than dealings and dialogue with Jewish leaders.

Christians certainly have a message which can reach across all boundaries, but it usually on different terms than the ones being used by the Presbyterian delegates. The fact that the can confront Israel and the United States while embracing the Hizbullah leadership is simply amazing. This transcript could be overlaid onto a conversation with the current democratic leadership.

Last summer the National Council of Churches of Christ called for U.S. withdrawl from Iraq. Earlier this month 96 United Methodist bishops have called for the same withdrawl. They seem concerned about ‘justice in the world’ but they fall on the wrong side of this issue.

We acknowledge that the freedom promised in the toppling of a dictator has been replaced by the humiliation of occupation and the violence of civil war,” the statement read. “The sacrifice of brave men and women has been used to serve policies that have diminished our nation’s prestige and our capacity to be agents of justice in the world.”

Atlas Shrugs has some information if you are a part of this movment to speak up to the leadership of the Presbyterian church.
