What used to be Hong Kong experienced what appears to be WTO protests which turned into the non-peaceful type as seen by the picture. Reports don’t seem to really put the numbers together well. Up to 9,000 police turned out to deal with the approximately 10,000 protesters. The Hong Kong police are releasing some of the 900 hundred activists who are primarily South Korean farmers.
The last time the police in Hong Kong geared up for such riots were during the anti-British riots in 1967. Reportedly it was the first mass arrest of Koreans abroad. Wonder why they aren’t able to hold such protests against the Nuke generating leadership of North Korean leader Kim Jong II. Perhaps its because they will live through this protest and not the other.
