The Marriage Expansion - Dolphin Style?

Posted by Conservative Culture On January - 5 - 2006

I could have imagined many headlines since the English began same sex ceremonies. However, when this “Woman Marries Dolphin” headline came across the news I was literally stunned. The blogging side of me then said, “this is too good to let go by.”

In Jerusalem, millionaire Sharon Tendler tells the tender story of meeting her meeting of Cindy (a male confused dolphin) 15 years ago. Finally she took the plunge and became the world’s first person to ‘marry’ a dolphin. This 41 year old British woman proclaimed her love for the groom.

“It’s not a perverted thing. I do love this dolphin. He’s the love of my life,” she said Saturday, upon her return to London.

Sharon promotes rock bands in England and true to the ‘rock and roll’ attitude toward such things who proclaimed her expectations for the future. She still is open to the option of ‘marrying human’ at some state but she was strictly a ‘one-dolphin woman’. Being the compassionate carrying type, she understands that her new found groom will play with all the other ‘girls there’.

“He will still play with all the other girls there,” she said, of their prenuptial agreement. “I hope he has a lot of baby dolphins with the other dolphins. The more dolphins the better.”

What a touching story (pass the Kleenex please). I would love to know which church helped to officiate this earth - water mammal relationship? For those who have to see the video it is posted on a news website here.

The Miracle Rumor - Blame the Media

Posted by Conservative Culture On January - 5 - 2006

The MSM did it again. Look at the wonderful level which the media has sunk in the 24/7 rush to fill air time with the marketable.

No time to check sources, get the facts straight or concern for how many will be hurt. Whose first with the scoop is all that matters.

Pictured is one headline that made it to press. There were many though not everyone got it wrong. Rush Limbaugh had a good analysis of the situation.

RUSH: Well, you know, folks, it’s just real simple here. From a purely analytical point of view — from a purely analytical point of view — the media prove time and time again they cannot be trusted to report the truth or the facts. We can’t count on them anymore. First there was Katrina. We got forged documents, lies about the law regarding the NSA program; now this terrible mine accident. Time and again they report false information and spin. They rely on rumored sources. Somebody shouts out a rumor, they run with it. They take it to the air. The new standard in the media is: a guy runs up and tells you something. You don’t know who your sources are. You don’t know your source’s name. You don’t know anything about him but you report it as news, and then when it’s all proven to be untrue, you get, “Oh, how awful,” but there’s never any official taking of responsibility. There’s never any accountability.

Good journalism always double checks the facts. Rumors and half heard conversations are not enough to go to press except for tabloids where those conversations can simply be made up.

[Rush] That somebody, the original error is somebody overheard someone? A foreman of a mine overheard a conversation and called a family member in a church, and that started this whole snowball. So a foreman overheard a phone call between a family member and somebody, spread the word in the church over what he thought he had heard, and that became the source, the genesis of this story that the miners were alive and that 12 of the 13 had survived and had been rescued.

You have to feel for the families who had such elevated relief when they heard the rumor and believed it. Only to be followed by a plunging to the darkest deaths that 12 of 13 were in fact dead.

Gun Control - Criminals Exempted

Posted by Conservative Culture On January - 5 - 2006

(HT California Conservative) After only two months since the election in San Francisco’s passing a ban on handguns there were some interesting hindsights offered.

ODD HOW the Special City, which prides itself on tolerance and chants incessantly about choice, can be so, well, intolerant. Witness the November election in which 58 percent of city voters elected to ban the sale of firearms in EssEff and to outlaw handgun ownership for citizens. It takes a special city to make the National Rifle Association look like the good guys.

Proposition H will only affect law abiding citizens while gang members will simply ignore the ban like they do other ‘minor’ laws like killing, threatening and terrorizing their neighborhoods.

Sorry, but if gang members think they can kill without getting caught, I don’t think a handgun ban is going to crimp their style.

She is absolutely correct. But the residents in liberal valley seem intent on passing laws which will only lead to wonderful paradises like Washington D.C. with its incredible crime rate. It seems impossible, but those promoting can’t really believe that laws actually prevent crime or protect its citizens. Law only meet out punishment for the violations once they occur. It is the self restraint of people that prevent crime and only if they choose to exercise it. So they pass Proposition H to place restrictions on the guiltless while still unable to restrict current gang-bangers.

Proposition H is an ordinance that would ban the manufacture, distribution, sale and transfer of firearms and ammunition within San Francisco.

Proposition H also would prohibit San Francisco residents from possessing handguns within San Francisco. An exception would allow residents to possess handguns if it is required for specific professional purposes. For example, San Francisco residents who are security guards, peace officers or active members of the U.S. armed forces would be permitted to possess handguns.

Michelle Malkin points out that San Francisco residents will have until April 1st to turn in their guns. How much more ironic can it get? The only question the citizens should be asking now is, “Who are the fools now?”
