(HT California Conservative) After only two months since the election in San Francisco’s passing a ban on handguns there were some interesting hindsights offered.
ODD HOW the Special City, which prides itself on tolerance and chants incessantly about choice, can be so, well, intolerant. Witness the November election in which 58 percent of city voters elected to ban the sale of firearms in EssEff and to outlaw handgun ownership for citizens. It takes a special city to make the National Rifle Association look like the good guys.
Proposition H will only affect law abiding citizens while gang members will simply ignore the ban like they do other ‘minor’ laws like killing, threatening and terrorizing their neighborhoods.
Sorry, but if gang members think they can kill without getting caught, I don’t think a handgun ban is going to crimp their style.
She is absolutely correct. But the residents in liberal valley seem intent on passing laws which will only lead to wonderful paradises like Washington D.C. with its incredible crime rate. It seems impossible, but those promoting can’t really believe that laws actually prevent crime or protect its citizens. Law only meet out punishment for the violations once they occur. It is the self restraint of people that prevent crime and only if they choose to exercise it. So they pass Proposition H to place restrictions on the guiltless while still unable to restrict current gang-bangers.
Proposition H is an ordinance that would ban the manufacture, distribution, sale and transfer of firearms and ammunition within San Francisco.
Proposition H also would prohibit San Francisco residents from possessing handguns within San Francisco. An exception would allow residents to possess handguns if it is required for specific professional purposes. For example, San Francisco residents who are security guards, peace officers or active members of the U.S. armed forces would be permitted to possess handguns.
Michelle Malkin points out that San Francisco residents will have until April 1st to turn in their guns. How much more ironic can it get? The only question the citizens should be asking now is, “Who are the fools now?”
