Heimlich Exercised by Petro

January 17, 2006 |

Recent invisibility by Heimlich on the campaign raised some questions. Despite the printing of material with his name on it the big ticket items were focused solely on Petro. So now the big news is that Heimlich is out.

This may be seen as a big blow to the Petro campaign. Yet the Blackwell campaign shows some signs of what appears as organizational dysfunction. Certainly they aren’t using the main paths in organizing for better or worse.

Petro’s campaign can still pull this together and put it into a positive light depending on his selection. Though Heimlich is a strong conservative it never looked like they were a good match together for whatever reason. A good strong choice could make this an interesting spring primary.

If this does spell the death blow to competition for the primary I wonder how the Blackwell campaign will be able to organizationally pull it together for a tough race against a strong Democratic challenger. We continue to wait on the edge of our seat to see how this will finally play out. Blackwell has one strong positive going in his favor: Pat Robertson hasn’t made his endorsement of either candidate know.

Hmmm… how can Petro get Robertson to make a controversial statement about Blackwell.
