Then there were two - Montgomery switches races

I agree with Paul from Newshound. Betty is a class act. She bowed out with style. It was a good move in the end for her and for the Republican Party in general. Montgomery the least conservative of the three and now the focus of the race can narrow a bit.
She leaves Petro and Blackwell to define themselves for the entire state in the next several months leading up to the primary. Instead Montgomery will now focus her attention on attorney general. A race she must feel she can better challenge State Senator Tim Grendelll for.
Sen. Grendell is a real conservative and if Blackwell is the final candidate may gain some additional boost from Blackwell’s grassroots base.
I am sure that the GOP leadership would like to have it narrowed to one but that doesn’t appear to be in the works. In fact the dropping out of Montgomery leaves some additional voters who may jump to Petro’s campaign. Time will tell.

Oops, looks like we had the same headline on this. I get the feeling the state republican establishment would rather see Petro since Kenneth Blackwell may be too much of a lose cannon for them.
