Cartoon Jihad Moves To Ohio

There is nothing like the quiet mid-west Ohio landscape. Just good ole American values untainted by the distractions of the madness the rest of the world faces. Well, then again that is what we should be thinking. It won’t be long before the cartoon madness comes to Ohio…. oh, I guess it is already here. Read on.

Michelle Malkin points out CNN’s crazy cartoon pixelation policy has stirred Muslim ire in the midwest. Akron, Ohio stirred up the issue (see… its their fault) by publishing a cartoon that lampoon’s CNN’s brilliantly stupid decision.

The editorial cartoon has prompted several letters in response. Also on Friday afternoon, there was a demonstration outside of the newspaper’s East Exchange Street building….

“They take the prize for being the most ill-intended, irresponsible property group,” he said. “Allah curses and condemns them and every Muslim in this community should curse and condemn them.”

Though the local Muslim community leaders express ‘deep deep’ hurt they certainly don’t get the point of the cartoon. I agree with Medpundit that they point of the cartoon was not Muhammad but CNN.

It’s pretty clear that the object of Bok’s ridicule was CNN, not Islam, and not Islam’s respected prophet. So now our community leaders are linking hands with CAIR to demand that people not criticize the media? It should be interesting to see how the paper responds tomorrow in its editorial pages. (They don’t run editorials on Saturdays.)

If you want to read the article and cartoon then look here. The comment section is also worth a read.

It is a shame that people can’t accurately assess the truth of the humor being used. The target was CNN’s policy. Muslim leaders who are deeply hurt by the content should also express how deeply they are hurt by the damage violent Muslims have brought on their own prophet. Ministers who say they lost years can’t possibly be serious. Why would all leaders lump them in with all of Western culture? Unless they are guilty of the very thing they accuse the cartoonists are doing… considering every western as a thoughtless infidel. Perhaps they still only feel you are a thoughtful infidel.

In the end I like another cartoon by the same author and thinks it speaks directly to the criticism leveled by the around the world? You might ask which behavior hurt the Muslim community. A piece of paper or the violence of the radical Muslims? Which best represent the Muslim community and their teachings? Then go ahead and act accordingly if you so choose.

    So-called community representatives

This week, I found, much to my disgust, that some dhimmi rabbis and priests prostrated themselves in CAIR’s attempts to attack a cartoonist, Chip Bok, at the Akron Beacon Journal (via Medpundit) for a cartoon he drew that made jabs not at the Islamis…
