Capital Police dropped the charge of unlawful conduct and then apologized for ejecting her and another women from the State of the Union address by President Bush.
The second women didn’t garner as much attention but she is the wife of wife of Rep. C.W. Bill Young, R-Indian Shores,
[She] told a newspaper that she was ejected during the State of the Union address for wearing a T-shirt that says, “Support the Troops Defending Our Freedom.”
I wonder if Sheehan would have received an apology if it had not been for the removal of wife of Rep. Young. Seems doubtful if it would have. According to custom all political shirts are not allowed as it is a formal affair and you would think that the Representative’s wife would have known that. Sheehan knew but didn’t care.
The two women appeared to have offended tradition if not the law, according to several law enforcement and congressional officials. By custom, the annual address is to be a dignified affair in which the president reports on the state of the nation. Guests in the gallery who wear shirts deemed political in nature have, in past years, been asked to change or cover them up.
Drudge points out past practice when the Impeachment Trial of Clinton was held. A person wearing an Anti-Clinton T-shirt was removed. It was appropriate and followed past practice of dealing with ‘political’ items at such events. Good for the Capital Police and should not have apologized.
Apparently Sheehan only knows the proper protocol when in a dictator’s country like Chavez’s. This women has no ability to follow the rules in society and shows here inability to distinguish between right and wrong. Especially since she considers Bush 10 times worse than Bin Laden. If she had any political smarts she would have dressed appropriately and just sat for the cameras to catch her responses to the speech.
