The Jesus Christ of Politics?
You couldn’t ask for a better 2 in 1 contrast over the recent jihadists reaction over the cartoon debacle. Paul Belien covered Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s statement:
???I am the Jesus Christ of politics. I???m a patient victim. I endure everything. I sacrifice myself for everyone.???
Then Roberto Calderoli, the Italian minister of Institutional Reforms last week revealed a T-shirt under his suit and shirt which had one of the Muhammad cartoons printed on it.
Muslims in Libya felt it was simply too fanatical and so 1,000 attacked the Italian consulate and set fire to it. Libyan policed fired and killed 11 of the poor victims who were attacking the consulate. This travesty of justice called for the arrest of the Lybian Interior Minister’s arrest.
Italy in response to alleviate pressure on the situation relieved Caleroli of his post. So the ‘Jesus Christ’ of Italian politics caved to the Muslim pressure and sacrificed another instead of himself.
Offensive? Christians have to endure a man calling himself Jesus Christ. Muslims have to endure a cartoon. While Christians Muslims flocked to the streets to burn and destroy it becomes apparent whose behavior was truly offensive.

You are absolutely correct in pointing out the fact that these two incidents point out the utter hypocrisy of the mobs rampaging and killing over some cartoons.
Imagine if Kanye West (PBUH) had posed as Big M for Rolling Stone and stated that he should be written into the koran…
Defaming Christianity though? No problem, apparently.
