Blood Red Rain and The Coming Appocolypse

How many people have quipped fun at the passages of the Bible as being too fantastic to have ever occurred? Then I start reading It’s Raining (Little Green) Men. Of course I’m curious. I do a little more quick research and find all sorts of document ‘weird’ events. So stroll along for a moment.

In the Old Testament it talks about quail being brought in by the winds for the Israelites.

Now a wind went out from the LORD and drove quail in from the sea. It brought them down all around the camp to about three feet above the ground, as far as a day???s walk in any direction. - Num. 11:31

The people in this shower didn’t receive a meal but rather it was decimated prior to arrival.

J. Hudson’s farm in Los Nietos Township, California endured a rain of flesh and blood for three minutes in 1869. The grisly fall covered several acres.

Don’t like bird under glass? How about flowers and crabs?

In 1881, a thunderstorm in Worcester, England, brought down tons of periwinkles and hermit crabs.

What started this was of course the 2001 blood red rain that fell over the Kerala district of western India. Samples gathered by one scientist reveal it was like cells without DNA. Of course there has been no completely satisfactory answer to all of this. Some speculate microbes from an meteor and others think the answer is like to be more earth based.

The plagues and events listed in the Old Testament differ from these unusual and odd events in one way. They were both useful and ‘co-ordinated’ to happen at the right time. Seems like as much as we think we know the more we find we really don’t know.

On last thought. It may raise the issue of possibility in some minds when you read lines like this.

The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

Well, keep looking up. You never know what you will see.

[...] And Now, for Something Totally Different, Have Alien Bacteria Landed? — I link, you decide. I heard Paul Harvey talk about the “red rain” in India this over the weekend, and found this article in the UK Guardian that I believe is the one Harvey was reading from. I know Paul Harvey and The Guardian don’t make it so, but it’s interesting nonetheless. Coincidentally S.O.B. Alliance member Conservative Culture also has an item about red rain, and other weird rain phenomena. It’s enough to make you want to stay indoors. [...]
