You write a letter challenging your local officials concerning what you see as a pro-gay stance. The next thing you see are police who want to question your homophobic ‘attitude’.

Joe Roberts, 73, and wife Helen, 68, of Fleetwood, Lancs, were reported by Wyre Borough Council who said they showed “potentially homophobic attitudes”.

The elderly Christian couple have decided to go after their ‘breach of human rights’ by suing the force and council. Imagine that your thoughts might be tied to potential crime but also hate crimes. Sure, this happened in the UK but it doesn’t take much to imagine it in the US.

The Roberts’ had questioned the council’s bid to improve equality, part of which would see gay lifestyle magazines distributed around staff areas.

I am sure they won’t be spreading Christian literature to bring about greater understanding in the community about Christians. Big Brother is not only watching but listening to your thoughts. What a comforting thought.
