The Judiciary committee of the MN legislature is still holding up an amendment to the Minnesota constitution defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

Liberals have to use all kinds of underhanded tricks to keep the will of the people from moving forward. Even in liberal MN.

For me the gay marriage issue is a human rights issue. If gays and lesbians pay their taxes and abide by the law, why can???t they have the same rights as everyone else when it comes to their pursuit of happiness?

The arguments being used by folks on the right are the same arguments that bigots used against interracial marriage. I have relatives and friends who are gay and lesbian,
I’m a straight woman who’s married with two children, but I’m ready to roll my sleeves up and take on this fight. We cannot allow our fellow Americans to be discriminated against. We must approach this fight the same way good people of every faith, every race and every religion approached the Civil Rights fight in the 60’s.
