Miltary Build-up at Arizona-Mexico Border

Gov. Janet Napolitano on Wednesday ordered more National Guardsmen posted at the Mexican border to help stop illegal immigrants and curb related crimes. The real news seems to be that National Guard Troops have been on duty since 1988. So it is coming up on nearly 20 years of problems. Now we add the possibility of terrorists to simply use the Mexican underground highway to the United States.
The Governor wanted to be clear that this was not a move to militarize the border.
“They are not there to militarize the border,” the governor said. “We are not at war with Mexico.”
I agree with Interested-Participant Conservatorium of Conservatism. If moving troops to the border I don’t know what the definition of militarizing the border is. She also says we are not at war with Mexico. Technically true but I wish someone would tell them that based on recent events.
