The troops risked their lives. They pull you out of a bad situation. One of your team is already dead. What response do you have for the troops?
Apparently not much if you are this bunch. Well, finally one of them saw the light and spoke up.
Head of the British Army, Gen Sir Mike Jackson, had said he was “saddened” there did not seem to be any gratitude after the rescue of Mr Kember, James Loney, 41, and Harmeet Singh Sooden, 32.
But on Saturday, Mr Kember said: “I do not believe that a lasting peace is achieved by armed force, but I pay tribute to their courage and thank those who played a part in my rescue.”
Blue Star Chronicles puts it this way.
Better late and a little begrudging than no thanks at all I suppose.
They might be expected to recognize the Scriptures on this matter.
for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. - Ro 13:4
The sad thing is that they apparently can’t distinguish between the sword the liberated them from the sword that was ready to execute them. Go figure. At least one seems to be more aware. They owe a great debt to the ones who risked their lives on their behalf.
