Spain Monkies Around or Just Goes Ape

Spain wants to grant human rights to Apes.

The Spanish newspaper El Mundo (25 April) reports that Spain???s governing Socialists are submitting a bill to grant human rights to four species of animals. The species are chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas and orang-utans: the so-called ???great apes??? or ???pongids??? (grandes simios in Spanish).

The purpose of the bill is to ensure that Spain adheres to the international Great Ape Project, granting the animals the right to life, freedom and not being tortured. The GAP motto is: ???Equality beyond humanity???. Its declaration says: ???We demand the extension of the community of equals to include all great apes: human beings, chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas and orang-utans.???

But even the Socialists discriminate. There will still be disparity and those who will never know true equality.

The Socialist Party does not grant the so-called ???lesser apes??? (gibbons [Hylobates] and siamangs [Hylobates sundactylus]) the same rights, but even the more advanced ???new world anthropoids??? [Platyrrhines] are excluded.

I am waiting to see when same sex marriage rights are granted. Or should I dare raise the question… when will Apes no longer be discriminated against by being prohibited from marrying within their ??species??and marry humans.

Jawa Report mentions it with some Planet of the Ape pics. Especially the touching moment when the one Chimp Chick kisses Charlton Heston. Who knew just how far ahead of his time he truly was.

Remaking America - USS Sedition

It won’t be Al-Qaeda that defeats America. No armed military or militia as defeated us. That includes the conflict in Vietnam or Korea. We win every conflict were the American people and politicians have the determination to be victorious.

In this case it began with the politicians who fed the lies to the American people and promoted the idea of being for the war effort while cutting and running from battle. All you have to do is look up the quotes prior to Bush and you see the same thoughts that Bush had when we entered the war on terror.

Read the World War 1 sedition act and see if it fits today.

SECTION 3. Whoever, when the United States is at war, shall willfully make or convey false reports or false statements with intent to interfere with the operation or success of the military or naval forces of the United States, or to promote the success of its enemies, or shall willfully make or convey false reports, or false statements, . . . or incite insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty, in the military or naval forces of the United States, or shall willfully obstruct . . . the recruiting or enlistment service of the United States, or . . . shall willfully utter, print, write, or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language about the form of government of the United States, or the Constitution of the United States, or the military or naval forces of the United States . . . or shall willfully display the flag of any foreign enemy, or shall willfully . . . urge, incite, or advocate any curtailment of production . . . or advocate, teach, defend, or suggest the doing of any of the acts or things in this section enumerated and whoever shall by word or act support or favor the cause of any country with which the United States is at war or by word or act oppose the cause of the United States therein, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $10,000 or imprisonment for not more than twenty years, or both….

The anti-military forces are now free to vandalize and spread the same political lies. California Conservative, Stop the ACLU, Outside the Beltway and Michelle Malkin have covered the recent attack in UC Santa Cruz.

In another era this would not have been permitted, arrests would have been made and the leaders tried. But it is not that era and America has lost something valuable. Its own respect for itself and the ability to stand up and be counted. Who is behind this? Communists, fascists or simple the cut and run crowd in Washington? What do you think? This kind of protest wouldn’t occur against the Mexican embassy for aiding illegals to get here now would it?

AZ Gov Retains power to disarm Minutemen

State senators didn’t get the two-thirds need to over turn Gov. Napolitano’s veto of legislation geared to reign in her power. What power might that be? The power to declare an emergency and disarm members of the Minuteman Project patrolling the Mexican border (is that an oxymoron?).

I love the Governor’s nonsensical explanation for her power grab. Read this one.

Napolitano said she had no intention of taking anyone’s weapons. But she said the measure was crafted too broadly, taking away her power even to order someone to move ammunition from the path of a forest fire.

I love Rational Reviews take editorial comment on this.

[editor's note: How can you "trim" a non-existent power? - TLK]

Gutless wonders won’t even stand up for the Constitution. The Governor has no authority to take away the guns of law abiding citizens. I appears that the Governor wants an open border and no protection of the 2nd amendment.

Positive Picture - Iraq

With all the problems Iraq has to overcome (watching the news… which country isn’t?) there are those moments when the good things being done are seen.

This is one of them.

Sgt. Sam Talley hands out school supplies to local Iraqi children.

The present shaking hands with the future of Iraq. Will the next generation grow up to embrace the freedom? Only time will tell.

Romanian Witches Unite!

What’s better than a Witch in Romania? A registered Witch!

Months of negotiation finally garnered the ability to make witchcraft a legal occupation. (They they say legal ‘occupation’?) Can we say that the spiritual realm of Romania has been cast under a spell.

Witchcraft is quite popular in Romania as many local people believe in the occult, especially in rural areas where legends of Transilvania’s count Dracula are still taken quite seriously. All over Eastern Europe women tend to believe in the powers of witches and some often resort to their help when settling a love score, healing a broken heart, or punishing a rival.

Welcome to the new spiritual realm of Romanian witches. Almost reminds me of the old movies with a Romanian backdrop.
