It isn’t too difficult, even with the average attention span of Americans, to remember the violence sparked among radical Muslims over a few pictures. Now we have the opportunity to make a brief comparison to the religion of Islam and Christians. In Norwary a ‘comedian’ burned pages of the Old Testament. So I challenge you to find the news articles of violence that will spring up all across the glob over the this act.
The radical Muslims will see this ‘weakness’. Others will see this as a moderated response to someone’s stupidity. Now take a look at the not so moderated but tolerated actions of the radical Muslims over a cartoon show in Paris. Behavior you see may soon be coming to a neighborhood near you.
“Later more of them came back with sticks and iron rods and tried to smash the pictures. They managed it with a few of them. With the customers we chased them away, but they kept coming back,” she said.
Later the cafe-owners were approached by a group of older youths. “They said they did not approve of what the youngsters had done. But what we were doing was unacceptable, too. They warned us that if we didn’t take down the cartoons they would call in the Muslim Brothers who would burn the cafe down,” said Marianne.
Now this desire to secure Muslim law in what might be called Muslim enclaves where Islamic law can be enforced. Even in the United States the attempt is being made to use homeowner associations and other groups to enforce their own ‘land of Islamic law’. How will this play out against the Constituation? That remains to be seen though one might think it is obvious.
First in Europe and now in the United States, Muslim groups have petitioned to establish enclaves in which they can uphold and enforce greater compliance to Islamic law. While the U.S. ConstitutionConstitution_2 enshrines the right to religious freedom and the prohibition against a state religion, when it comes to the rights of religious enclaves to impose communal rules, the dividing line is more nebulous. Can U.S. enclaves, homeowner associations, and other groups enforce Islamic law?
You will want to see the rest of this on Atlas Shrugs. In the meantime they have violated the Liberal’s separation of church and state and yet I have heard no liberal speaking up. The use of public pools just for women might sound reasonable. But that the pool is restricted at all for only one faith and all must adhere to their religious teachings to be present sounds oddly like the state endorsement of one religious sect over another.
But I’m sorry. I forgot about the first part of the article. Christians don’t riot and kill to get the recognition and so they don’t. Nothing like a nice swim after a tough day of jihad with the infidels.
