ACLU Doesn’t Always Win

Thanks to the Blog “Stop the ACLU” we often hear of the stupidity that is carried out in the name of liberty. On occassion liberty does win out.
So here are two good results in the ACLU being stopped. The first is for a 10 commandments display.
A Ten Commandments monument that has stood on the courthouse lawn for almost 50 years does not promote religion and can remain in place, a federal judge ruled.
U.S. District Judge James Carr said Tuesday that the monument can stay because the motives for placing it outside the Lucas County courthouse were secular and not an endorsement of a specific belief.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio sued Lucas County in 2002 to have the display removed, saying it was unconstitutional and promoted religion.
And one for the Patriot Minutemen.
On Tuesday, deputy state Land Commissioner Richard Hubbard called it a misunderstanding by the employee. He said the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps volunteers were invited by the landowners to do ranch work in addition to their patrols, which gives them the right to be there.
???They are authorized to be there under the terms of the lease,??? Hubbard said.
Ranch owner Pat King, whose ranch includes some state trust land that she leases, said she has a contract with the group for the volunteers to monitor cattle, pick up trash and fix fences on her property, King???s Anvil Ranch.
She called the ACLU members misguided, out-of-town youngsters who don???t understand what people- and drug smugglers have done to her land and the valley.???Those American Civil Liberties Union persons up there are not concerned about me at all,??? King said. ???So they are not really the American Civil Liberties Union are they? Because they don???t give a darn about what has happened to my constitutional rights to property.???
The ACLU wouldn’t mind picking America apart piece by piece until it bleeds to death. Thankfully there are some courts that still dispense justice and patriots willing to stand up for what is right.

Well, no one told me to invite my friends to celebrate. Apparently April 1st (how appropriate is that?) is the Assyrian New Year. The picture here is of a gathering in Nineveh Province.
All you Bible Scholars will be familiar with those two terms. A reminder to years gone past when some of the Israelites, because of their idolatry were taken out of the land by the Assyrians.
I just didn’t know they still celebrated the Assyrian New Year. Must be a reminder to them of more glorious days.

How about an expert who says the creep wasn’t motivated to kill but rather by his victims desire to be eaten. Too weird to be true. I only wish that were the case.
A sex expert at the retrial of a German cannibal jailed for killing a man and feeding on his flesh said Tuesday the defendant had not been motivated by a desire to kill but by his victim’s wish to be eaten.
Armin Meiwes, who was jailed two years ago for killing a computer engineer who had begged to be eaten, is standing trial for the second time after Germany’s top criminal court ruled that his eight-year sentence for manslaughter was too lenient.
Prosecutors, hoping to secure a murder conviction, need to show that Meiwes killed his victim to fulfill his own sexual desire or that he planned to distribute for profit part of the videotape he made of the crime.
The society isn’t too much brighter either. A man kills someone and eats the victim. What part of this crime don’t they understand. If he did it who really cares why. Take the man out and execute him. The whole purpose of laws is to provide and protect. Provide a safe environment for others to achieve their potential and to protect from others. That is the nature of love. If anything less happens there is neither love or justice.

If this had been the anti-establishment age of the 60’s there would have been more libs on the front line of this issue. Help keep the established government’s role smaller in the lives of young children.
Now it is the Conservatives who are fighting to keep the young children from heading off so early for their indoctrination in the not so ‘conservative’ education system of America. It also is a fight against soaking hard working Americans from footing the bill as more taxes will need to come in. Don’t forget that it will include the “Illegals” who will benefit from the new tax money.
A California affiliate of the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family has begun airing radio ads opposing a June ballot initiative that would raise taxes on the wealthiest Californians to pay for universal preschool.
Meanwhile in Texas the parents have risen against a Christian student group who used the school building for a bible study. They may have to sue in order to meet as a student group.
Liberty Legal Institute, located in nearby Plano, says the district’s demands that the club sign a rental agreement and relinquish its status as a student club are in direct violation of the Equal Access Act. Liberty Legal brought that fact to the district’s attention in a demand letter that outlined the club’s constitutional rights and sought to resolve the matter quickly and without litigation.
A system designed to indoctrinate children at a younger age and nearly cleared of that dreaded word “God” or even worse in the eyes of libs - “Jesus Christ”. All at tax payer expense. What would Karl Marx thing?
