Bush Bashed Over NOT Breaking Law

Old news now but worthy of a mention. The Violence Worker, Rhymes with Right and Say Anything were all over the hot topic of the news. The MSM was in a feeding frenzy trying to drum up a case to impeach Bush. Law makers on the liberal side cried foul while there was no foul. If they were officiating a game they would have been booed off the court.

The Violence Worker puts in on this with some relevant and useful insight.

In my military career, I worked with classified documentss. First of all, a lot of documents that have a classification often contain large chunks of unclassified information contained within the document. As a matter of fact, each paragraph will start with a letter in parentheses. (i.e. (u) meaning unclassified, (s) for secret, etc.) The document will be classified according to the highest classification contained in the document. I???ve seen documents with numerous pages of unclassified information except for one or two relevant paragraphs which render the whole thing classified because they are contained with in the same document.

Regardless of classification, the President of the United States has final say on what is classified or declassified. The bottom line:

Bush broke no law.

Rhymes with Right adds these comments to the discussion.

Because after all — as Commander in Chief, who has the ultimate authority to declassify information? President George W. Bush. And since it has long been established that he similarly authorized Vice President Dick Cheney to declassify information, any disclosures they authorized would be legal.

I guess Fitmas ain’t coming for the Bush Derangement Syndrome sufferers after all

Say Anything polishes off the MSM’s attempt to tie all this together and deliver a Bush scandal.

The media is actively trying to confuse Bush’s authorized release of information from a national intelligence estimate memo with the leak of Valerie Plame’s identity to the press.

The two are not the same, yet the media/left is so hungry to tie Bush to Plame that apparently they’re all going to pretend like it is, and that somehow the President does not have the authority to unilaterally declassify national security information. Something which, in reality, he does all the time.

You would never guess these facts from listening to the MSM. I wish we would get paid the big bucks they get to report the news. We couldn’t screw it up any worse than they already do.
