Strickland trashes State Motto.
According to Strickland Ohio is no longer the heart of it all. In the meantime he doesn’t appear to deal with the ‘heart’ of the problem. Still stuck on the culture of corruption theme and ignores the real problems… like high taxes, including the raised sales taxes.

???For a long time Ohio was the heart of it all,??? Strickland said. ???But Ohio has fallen on hard times. Ohio is no longer at or near the top ??? it is at or near the bottom.???

During his 45-minute speech, Strickland said if he is elected to governor he would dedicate up to $300 million each year for investment into alternative fuel research and development. The notion got a positive rise out of those in attendance.

There is a reason Strickland doesn’t say much about tax cuts. He is too busy thinking of how to hand out more money so more taxes will be needed. Look at his voting record.

Voted NO on making the Bush tax cuts permanent. (Apr 2002)
Voted NO on $99 B economic stimulus: capital gains & income tax cuts. (Oct 2001)
Voted NO on eliminating the Estate Tax (”death tax”). (Apr 2001)
Voted NO on eliminating the “marriage penalty”. (Jul 2000)

There really isn’t much more that needs to be said. Strickland is a tax and spend democrat who happens to be the son of a preacher man. That doesn’t make him a conservative by any stretch of the imagination.

… as for the Democratic gubernatorial nominee, Congressman Ted Strickland, Burress says, “He’s a Democrat who sticks to the Democratic platform and what he’s been told to do…

Brown’s meaningless stats
Angus Reid appears to be beefing up Brown’s numbers. A meaningless comparison on percentage numbers certainly doesn’t bring any understanding to the Brown - DeWine contest.

On May 2, Ohio voters participated in a primary election. DeWine earned the GOP senatorial nod with 71 per cent of the vote, while Brown won the Democratic contest with 77.5 per cent.

Already they are twisting meaningless comparisons to show that Brown has an upper hand while the opposite is true. Another reason to watch the numbers that will be rolled out with extreme skepticism.
