I (Daniel Mount) didn’t post anything today because I spent the day at the statehouse listening to the testimony on the ohio abortion ban, H.B. 228.

Several women who had abortions testified to the overflow crowd. After hearing their stories, my reaction was that that only someone with a heart of stone could possibly listen to them speak and then vote to keep abortion legal. I know different people have different reasons for their positions, but the testimonies were very moving.

Libs cry… soldiers are killing innocent people… prisons are mistreating terrorists! But what about the things that are happening in America? Try to execute an brutal man in America and what happens. The ACLU or other libs are in the streets trying to stop it. Remember Tookie for example? How about Morales?

Yest it all seems surreal doesn’t it? While the Libs talk about getting the troops home they ignore the facts about the violence here.

FBI statistics Monday confirmed what big cities like Philadelphia, Houston, Cleveland and Las Vegas have seen on the streets: Violent crime in the U.S. is on the rise, posting its biggest one-year increase since 1991.

In Philadelphia, homicides jumped from 330 in 2004 to 377 in 2005, a 14 percent increase, according to the FBI. Murders climbed from 272 to 334 in Houston, a 23 percent rise, and from 131 to 144 in Las Vegas, a 10 percent increase.

Jeffrey Sedgwick, director of the U.S. Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Statistics, cautioned that it is not yet clear whether the FBI numbers reflect a real increase, or the ordinary year-to-year variations that statisticians call “static noise.”

Sedgwick said it is possible that crime rates in the U.S. are approaching a floor below which it may be difficult or even impossible to go. “I’m not sure it’s reasonable to expect you can always drive the crime rate down,” he said.

If it is impossible to drive the crime rate down in America how is it that the Libs expect a violence torn region to be tranquil? Iraq is doing well. America may not have the exposure that Iraq has… but every day there is violence and innocent people die (or harmed) because libs want to legalize drugs, free the sex offenders and spend money keeping the worst people alive on the public dole. Figure out a lib? You will go crazy doing it.
