RealClearPolitics’s take on the 2008 Presidential Race

RealClearPolitics offers this encapsulation of the 2008 Presidential Race:

At the moment, the GOP race is shaping up as McCain and Giuliani on the center right, and Senator George Allen and Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney among more traditional conservatives (Senator Bill Frist is also in the more traditional camp though he has faded a bit as a potential candidate after a disappointing run as Majority Leader).

Every politically active conservative knows that McCain and Giuliani are social liberals. But if Allen and Romney are the best hope of the conservatives, we’re in trouble. Brownback and Huckabee are far better alternatives.

If Allen were to be a frontrunner, or even the nominee, the leftists would try to make a huge deal of the picture of him wearing a Confederate battle flag pin from years ago (I haven’t seen the pic(s), but have read they exist).

I, for one, am willing to look past that. What I look at is where Allen stands now, and as a moral-issues conservative, I’m not too happy with that.

Brownback’s immigration stance kills him. While I am biased, I work for him, people should start checking out John Cox. He is the ONLY pro-life without exception conservative in the Presidential race, AND he is right on all the issues.

While doing some research reveals that he has run for other offices before, has Cox ever actually held any positions besides being the chairman of the Cook County, Illinois GOP?

And would Ed Meehan, chairman of the Richland County GOP, be a viable candidate for President should he run?
