Supreme Court to rule on abortion ban
The U.S. Supreme Court has decided to accept a second pro-life case. In February, they agreed to hear a Nebraska partial-birth abortion case. They have decided that they would also hear a California challenge to a bill restricting abortion.
I am not optimistic that this heralds a pro-life breakthrough; with Kennedy still on the bench, we are guaranteed a compromise measure at best. I welcome the news because we will now finally get to hear where Roberts and Alito really stand.
UPDATE: Whatever happens on the second case, at least Kennedy voted the right way on a 2003 partial-birth abortion case (which went the wrong way despite his vote). That had escaped my mind.
