Why Same Sex Marriage Will Pass

The founders never choose a ‘national’ church and with good reason. Organized religion has not always had the interests of God at heart. Yet the founders knew the importance of at least not flaunting rebellion in the face of their Creator either. They knew it was in the best interest of the nation to call upon the Lord God for both His providence and blessings.

Ps. 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.

One infamous set of ‘twin’ cities called Sodom and Gomorrah has been the hallmark of how not to run a society in fear of divine reprisals. This of course didn’t stop other cultures from following their example (examples from Roman and Greek cultures). Nor did it stop nations like Israel from finding it in their own cities.

Judg. 19:22 While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, ???Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him.???

Today, our nation no longer is willing to tolerate simply having what goes on behind closed doors to “stay behind closed doors”. Instead the movement has been toward open same-sex relationships and now they are demanding that the State recognize and sanction these relationships. When people talk about same-sex marriage bans it isn’t a ban on such activity (such bans have long ago been abandoned) but on not allowing those relationships to be licensed the same way traditional marriages have been. But the debate is already owned by those against preventing the redefining of marriage.

The amendment would define marriage as solely between a man and a woman, and the president says it would defend an institution under attack.

Opponents say the amendment would enshrine discrimination in the U.S. constitution — denying homosexuals the rights due other Americans.

Another news source questions the use of time to debate this issue as if it was meaningless.

Is this a good use of the Senate time?

Bush will try to rally backers for the same-sex marriage amendment. While he attempts his best to pull together the support needed one begins to wonder who is left in the debate to rally. Who is left (no pun intended).

Most of the mainline churches have already been undercut in their support. This has been in the works for years and intentionally so. Many MSCs (main stream churches) are now openly supporting same-sex marriages or at least the idea of civil unions. They no longer view the Scriptures as final in this matter and ignore the dire warnings their Creator gave them about the future.

2Pet. 2:6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

Jude 7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

Donklephant.com reveals the roots of understanding have shifted from a Creator to Evolutionary thinking.

Natural roots? Now, correct me if I???m wrong, but hasn???t there been homosexuality since the emergence of homo sapiens?

Talk about a major leap of faith. The have less testimony about those ‘primitive times’ than those that listen to their creator.

So there is no reasonable argument one can make (if not to those who claim to be Jesus Christ’s people) to the rest of the culture to rally undying support for this tough issue. Others with no Biblical underpinnings may still have misgivings but only ‘feel’ that it “just ain’t right”. They opposition will continue to push to silence all opposition with words like… hate speech, discrimination, rights and liberty… but all with the intent to use their freedom as a cover for evil. I use that word carefully because I am aware I don’t make the rules. But since the Creator has… then I simply must.

But so much more is also on the table as well. Same-sex marriage really is the result of a culture that has rejected truth. Americans who would wish to win this issue may likely see it lost. Why?

* The churches no longer have the strength needed to defend Biblical positions (generally speaking)
* Politicians more afraid of upsetting potential voting blocks (look at the non-voting blocks they are worried about… illegal immigrants)
* No one wants to be labeled as being a bigot or charged with a ‘hate speech’ crime

Perhaps Solomon summed it up best.

Prov. 28:5 Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it fully.

Eccl. 3:16 And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment ???wickedness was there, in the place of justice ???wickedness was there.

This is not to say we don’t speak up. But don’t tie your emotions to the outcome. Regardless of the outcome one must speak the truth and represent the one they speak for. In the meantime I just wonder how long before we act to actually legalize same-sex marriage.

President Bush publicly did something today he should have five and a half years ago: Propose a Marriage Amendment that bans same-sex marriage or defines marriage as between a male and a female. The timing reeks of the odor of politics.

The timing might rally the Conservative troops one last time, however if or when failure occurs by a large margin it will be a huge emotional let down. That is why I understand why “Conservative Culture” says not to tie your emotions to the outcome of this cause.

It is not a good thing when a lame duck President with very low popularity poll ratings finally tosses a bone to the base that put him in Office. It would truly be a miracle from God to get a 2/3 approval rating from both Houses of Congress let alone one. The irony is I think this Amendment would easily pass State ratification; it is the Leftists in Congress that will prevent it to being presented to the American people to decide.

That is why the Leftist have been battling with Bush Appointees to the Judiciary for five and one half years: The Democratic Party agenda will be ratified in the Courts, not by the American people. For better of for worse, the Founding Fathers simply made it too difficult to override a Judicial System dominated by a political agenda.

I pray for the sake of America that “Conservative Culture” is wrong, if not America will slide into the annals of lost civilizations due to debasement of culture.

The GOP hopes to fool people into believing that they are actually trying to do something — I don’t buy it.
