State Rep Candidate Matt Huffman Shows Character
A little known piece of information happened to come into my lap and it is one that I thought needed sharing. While most grow suspicious of the corruption which often surrounds politics, there are still a few gems to be found. It appears that Matt Huffman will prove himself to be one of them if this story is any indication of things to come.
Matt Huffman’s wife came across paper outside the Lima Post Office this week. She found what appeared to be small pieces of paper on the street. Picking up the paper he discovered that as many as 8 pieces of paper turned out to be checks.
Any number of people can imagine the choices that might pass through one’s mind. But I haven’t added the most important piece of information. The checks were campaign checks made out to her husband’s democratic challenger Dennis Shreefer. Added is the fact that this once colorful local talk show has often been a burr under the skin of many Republicans.
Matt Hufman showed his colors when he quickly made arrangements to turn the checks over to his opponent who had somehow lost them earlier that day.
Perhaps the title could have been “Honest Republicans Returns Lost Money to Fiscally Irresponsible Democrat.” Or perhaps “Fiscal Conservative Returns Money Thrown to the Wind by Democrat”. Either way, it is a story worth relaying in a day when Dems accuse all Republicans of a “Culture of Corruption.”
But all is well. The opponent has his money and he retains his character.
