Funeral Protest Ban Starts Next Week

Conservative Rep. Willamowski (OH 4th District) commented on the new protest ban which will go into effect next week. It’s hard to believe we need such legislation but then again the times… they have changed.
“Reasonable time and place restrictions are allowable. I don’t see inciting family members at a time when they’re grieving. It is not right,” said state Rep. John Willamowski, R-Lima, a co-sponsor of the bill that was signed into law in May.
Willamowski said protesters can have their say, just not along a funeral route or within an hour of the funeral.
The law will prohibit protests within 300 feet of a funeral service or a funeral procession. It will also ban protests from being held within an hour of a service or within an hour after it’s done.
Wonder if anyone plans something before then. In the meantime the families have their rights while free speech is still enabled. Nice.
