Debate: GOP Winners/Losers
May 16, 2007 |
The best lines: (I see Pain Dealer feels the same)
Huckabee - “spends more than John Edwards at a beauty shop”
Tancredo for “we need Jack Bauer” or was it I’d call Jack Bauer
The Best Conservative:
Huckabee and the tout for fair tax. Overall I didn’t know much about him but liked what I saw.
The Losers:
McCain was terrible. He looked stiff and his answers were less than satisfactory most of the time. (Noticed that Atlas Shrugs also thinks he should do us a favor and drop)
The nameless wonder who killed his campaign by saying we caused 911
The Winnders:
Time will tell. I don’t believe in the artificial rankings by the media by tier. Rudolph Giuliani and Mitt Romney did well… but Huckabee is the more conservative candidate.
Atlas has this:
My initial reaction to the debates? Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter are underrated. They are the ones to watch.
Giuliani is the top contender. He won it. Romney was too wooden. He has to work on that. He is a great candidate but lacks spontaneity.
I find it hard to support Mr. G’s open support of abortion hard to support for the primary. I am hoping we see some other candidates rise to the top to give us a real conservative choice… This will be extremely one sided on the selection of an “electable” moderate/liberal Republican. I would like to see one of the more conservative candidates rise to the top. We shall see.
