Ohio – Learn the difference between Moderate and Conservative Republicans
Republicans lost the last election at the top because Ohioans voted for conservative ideas but placed their trust in moderates who were acting like conservatives. Like I noted here… moderates tend to act like drunk liberals when nothing is in jeapordy (namely their jobs) and conservatives when the feel the heat on their tail ends. It is time Ohio stop electing Republicans who only taut conservative ideas at election time.
In 2006, Republicans were defeated, but conservatism was not.
Today should be a reminder to the GOP that it can not afford to ignore its base, the economic and cultural conservatives, which provides the ideological backbone of the party and serves as a counterweight to the salad-bowl of constituencies and “oppressed” victim groups known as the Democrat Party.
There is a reason why twice as as many Americans consider themselves conservative instead of liberal. And Republicans can win elections because our core principles and ideals are superior to the failed egalitarianism of the left.
Even Bob Taft and George Voinovich know the power of the conservative movement, since they both campaigned as solidly pro-life, anti-gambling candidates. And Jim Petro, a pro-abortion pro-gambling Cuyahoga County Republican with an extensive liberal record, still knew how important it was to be a conservative during the campaign.
