Athens Gets Muslim Prayer Center - Lucky them

Not since 1833 has this happened. It’s just a prayer center and I ams sure it’s no threat to anyone. They pray for peace, Allah’s will and of course the head of Rushdie.

ATHENS, Greece – Immigrant groups on Friday opened the first formal Islamic prayer site to operate in Athens since rule by the Turks of the Ottoman Empire ended more than 170 years ago.

Plans by Greece’s government to build a mosque for tens of thousands of Muslim immigrants living in the capital have stalled, so businessmen in Arab countries financed the downtown cultural center.

“This is the first time in all the 35 years I’ve lived in Greece that we have a proper place to pray,” said Naim El-Gandour, the Egyptian-born head of the Muslim Association of Greece. “It’s hard for me to describe what’s happening. I am overcome with emotion.”

Jihad Lovin PBS

Posted by Conservative Culture On June - 25 - 2007

Censorship of anything that exposes Jihad is bad for PBS. Thankfully their loss is Fox’s gain.

As predicted, PBS’s loss is Fox’s gain. Note: this isn’t “Islam vs. Islamists,” the film PBS originally spiked allegedly because it wasn’t quite “balanced” enough in its treatment of fundamentalists. This is a companion documentary made by the same producers, Frank Gaffney and Martyn Burke. As you’ll see from last night’s interview with Gaffney on H&C, even Fox doesn’t have its facts straight about that. Nor is it straight about the airdate: Lowry gives it as 7 p.m. but according to the website and my own cable guide here, the actual time is 9.

Strickland Takes Strong Stand - Against Marriage Amendment

Posted by Conservative Culture On June - 25 - 2007

HT To Right Angle. Not surprising considering he is a very liberal “minister” and his social agenda will ultimately be liberal.

From gaypeopleschronicle.com

Throughout his speech Strickland chastised “a discrimination that is holding us back.”

“I oppose putting discrimination into the constitution,” he said referring to the 2004 passage of Ohio’s marriage ban amendment.

“I also oppose that at the federal level,” he added. “We have right on our side. Love is stronger than hate. Courage is desirable and more powerful than fear.”

“I want to make a pledge to you. We will look for ways to change Ohio to be a better place, a more tolerant place. We will never reach our full potential or economic zenith until we realize that a state that is open and tolerant and equal is a state that will grow and thrive,” he concluded. “Those of you who have found love, hold onto that as a precious possession and may we never deprive another’s experience to find love.”

He also said, “Thanks to the community for sharing Mary Jo Hudson with me.”

Gay Marriage - Future Presidential Support?

Posted by Conservative Culture On June - 25 - 2007

Elizabeth Edward’s unreserved support for gay marriage marks a real change in Presidential politics. I believe that the American public is increasingly being won over by the sound bites and the erosion of conservative churches in America. Don’t be surprised at the following. One of them is Elizabeth’s scheduled appearance at a gay pride march.

Elizabeth Edwards’ scheduled appearance Sunday at a major San Francisco Gay Pride event represents a first for a major presidential candidate or spouse — one that activists said reflects the growing clout of gays and lesbians as voters and their continued move into the political mainstream.

Her words express outright support for gay marriage.

Said Edwards: “I don’t know why somebody else’s marriage has anything to do with me. I’m completely comfortable with gay marriage…If he’s pleasant to me on the street, if his children don’t throw things in my yard, then I’m happy. It seems to me we’re making issues of things that honestly … don’t matter.”

However, her explanation of the difference between her position and John Edwards seems really unnecessary. Perhaps it is a sure ‘tell’ that John uses different words but if President he actually holds to her position. In reality the two positions are really one and the same.

During the stump speech, she reiterated John Edwards’ position on the issue: ”John believes that couples in committed long-term relationships should enjoy the same rights, benefits and responsibilities regardless of whether they are straight couples or same-sex couples. He supports civil unions.”

The military? John supports do tell and please just do.

Edwards also said her husband believes in ending the “don’t ask, don’t tell” government policy regarding gays serving in the military.

Yes… lets do incite the Jihadists to be inflamed with passion against the immoral western civilizations sodomy squad. Who says that liberals know how to push all our enemy’s buttons. They think that President Bush’s policy inflames them… just wait if a real liberal gets into office.
