Ohio Dem Scandal Makes Noe look like Ammatuer

One of the most powerful almighty Democrats is a sinking ship today. The bigger news is further down… but lets just say MDL and his daughter AND Missing money.

Can you say most ethical government? You may be able to say it but it’s not what Ohio got in the last election. Like the lost data coverup…. more stuff like this continues to leak out. This long brewing Democratic scandal in Ohio is coming out… but not like it would if they were Republicans. Shame Shame. It is so bad it looks like Tom Noe has a much better successor. This stuff should be front page items in the newspapers. NRO Has this to say.

It seems there is no limit to Paul Krugman’s hatred of the Republican party. And apparently there’s no limit to the New York Times’s willingness to embarrass itself by printing yet another hilarious error-filled column by America’s most dangerous liberal pundit.

In his Friday column, Krugman attempts to spit out the salacious details of scandals involving Republican politicians in Ohio. But what Krugman doesn’t seem to know is that many of the politicians he’s talking about are Democrats! And because the Times does no fact-checking of its op-ed columns, his absurd blunders now live forever in the “newspaper of record.”

Krugman’s column concerns apparent improprieties in the management of investment funds by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Ohio’s state government is dominated by Republicans, so for Krugman the BWC scandals are “an object lesson in what happens when you have one-party rule untrammeled by any quaint notions of independent oversight.”

This all started in April when the scandal now referred to as “coingate” was documented on the Angry Left hate-blogs that Krugman sources. Apparently the BWC made a highly unconventional investment in rare coins managed by a high-profile Ohio Republican fundraiser, Tom Noe. It remains to be seen how much real fire there is to “coingate,” but there is certainly plenty of smoke: Though Noe is an expert in coin investments, he is also currently under investigation by the FBI for campaign finance violations, while other matters of ethical impropriety — of unknown merit — have been raised.

Krugman covers all of this before going on to describe what he calls “an even bigger story” in Ohio, that wicked bastion of Republican “one-party rule”:

the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation invested $225 million in a hedge fund managed by MDL Capital, whose chairman had strong political connections. When this investment started to go sour, the bureau’s chief financial officer told another top agency official that he had been told to “give MDL a break.”

According to the Columbus Dispatch, BWC’s loss was actually $215 million — leave it to economist Krugman to get the number wrong and err on the side of partisan melodrama. But either way that’s a huge number, and it makes the $13 million loss in “coingate” look like small change (as it were).

Krugman continues:

We’re talking about personal payoffs … MDL Capital employs the daughter of one of the members of the workers’ compensation oversight board …

Quite a scandal. But Krugman seems ignorant of the fact that the MDL scandal is all about Democrats, all the way. (Or perhaps he knows this and chooses not to acknowledge it.)
Here is the scandal that is all in the family and all about Democrats.

According to the Toledo Blade, which Krugman cites as his source for this “bigger story,” the person who told the BWC’s CFO to “give MDL a break” was George Forbes, a member of the BWC’s oversight commission. Forbes is also president of the Cleveland chapter of the NAACP, former president of the Cleveland City Council, former candidate for mayor of Cleveland, and a Democrat.

And who’s that daughter who’s employed by MDL? You guessed it, didn’t you? It’s Mildred “Mimi” Forbes, daughter of the very same and very Democratic George Forbes.

The Democrats have wasted no time in equally Republican Democratic (??) Bob Taft. In fact they dwarf Taft’s most corrupt days already. We have 3.5 years left with the democratic leadership and can’t wait to see what comes up next. Yes… the Democrats have really set the bar at a new high low.

Toledo Blade Covers Golf Outing Strippers For Democrats

Posted by Conservative Culture On July - 5 - 2007

The article really doesn’t cover the scandal brewing over golf chart drink girls who were off from their night job. It appears that the Dems were so embarrassed that they didn’t kick the girls off the course until after every golfer was served and the outing was over.

I also don’t believe the line in bold. What isn’t said… Who organized this and was this a flash for cash fund raiser for the Dem party in the Toledo area. It sounds like the organizer should be stripped of his job… but it appears that the

Strippers embarrass Democrats

July 4, 2007

TOLEDO, Ohio – A golf outing for local Democrats left some participants embarrassed after they found strippers were handing out drinks at the event. One participant said he saw a woman flash a group of golfers. Others at the fund-raiser said they didn’t see any inappropriate acts.

”Every elected official out there was embarrassed,” said Clerk of Courts Bernie Quilter.

Lucas County Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz said he saw one woman lift up her top and show her chest to a group of golfers.

She then lowered her shorts, he said.

”What I saw was inappropriate, offensive and wrong,” Kapszukiewicz said.

In the Toledo Blade it appears that they have now decided to add a bylaw into the Dem Constitution a “Higher” standard of conduct than they currently have. Wow. I already thought that they had become the standard of ethical conduct in Ohio. Didn’t they say that in last year’s campaign? Guess I was wrong.

Caught in the backswing of scandal, the head of the Lucas County Democratic Party apologized yesterday for having strippers at a golf fund-raiser last week.

But several elected officials said the follow-through should be the party chairman’s resignation.

John Irish, chairman of the county Democrats, pledged to donate $1,200 from party funds to the YWCA. That equals the “profits” the party received from individuals and businesses in the adult entertainment industry, according to a statement released yesterday.
“I understand the embarrassment that it caused the party,” Mr. Irish said in an interview. “I will work diligently to make sure that these things don’t happen again.”

The party will insert a bylaw into its constitution requiring a “high standard of behavior” at its events. After a discussion between Mr. Irish and Toledo Councilman Ellen Grachek, the party plans to form a task force to recruit women candidates for public office.
Mr. Irish said the golf outing Friday at Spuyten Duyval, a public course in Sylvania Township, deserved criticism.

Female employees of Scarlett’s Cabaret in Toledo and Club Diamonds in Oregon manned the beverage carts. And at least one woman raised her top and lowered her shorts for a group of golfers.

The elected officials who came forward to describe the event will not be punished for their candor, Mr. Irish said. In the past, elected officials who broke with party leadership in the heavily Democratic county received sanctions, such as a ban on receiving contributions from the party.
