(365gay.com)(Woodstock, Illinois) The first of two teenage girls charged with distributing anti-gay fliers at a Crystal Lake high school has received a slap on the wrist.

The girl, who is now 17, cannot be named because of her age, was 16 when she was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting a peace officer, and a hate crime.

Under a plea agreement the hate crime charge was dropped and she pleaded guilty to the other charges.

Well…there appears to be no freedom of the press unless its lib press. Certainly one might consider it in poor taste. If the accusation about the student was a lie then there is a slander of defamation case (not a lawyer… so excuse the generalities). But a hate crime. Unnecessary and so open to abuse by the big brother pc movement.

Consider the next case. Much more serious.

(Buffalo News) Three teenagers are facing hate crime charges after they drove dangerously close to another car, taunted its developmentally disabled occupants and forced the other vehicle to crash at a Cheektowaga Thruway exit last week, state police say.

The Cheektowaga teens are charged with an extended bout of bullying that began late last Thursday in a McDonald’s parking lot and continued as the teens followed the victims by car.

The charges follow a six-day investigation that relied on a large number of phone tips, witness interviews and a review of restaurant surveillance tapes, State Police Capt. Michael Nigrelli said……

Kwiatkowski was charged with reckless endangerment, harassment and criminal mischief — all as hate crimes.

Heerdt was charged with harassment as a hate crime.

And a 16-year-old male, a passenger in Kwiatkowski’s vehicle, also was charged with harassment as a hate crime. He was not named by state police because of the possibility his case could be assigned to Family Court, Nigrelli said.

The three suspects were arraigned in Cheektowaga Town Court and are scheduled to return there Wednesday.

Their behavior was reckless, criminal and they should be charged with the appropriate law. Their thoughts are irrelevant. Perhaps we could enact a “Stupid” law also. Perhaps charges could be less or more (depends on your take) if they are found to be stupid criminals… but then that again is redundant isn’t it.

Kenton board of dis-education wasn’t too bright last year when they said that the issue of suspension wasn’t on the table because the boys responsible for seriously injuring two people wasn’t an educational matter. (They had pulled a prank by placing a deer target in the road…. a car came and crashed because of it). The coaches and parents were not much better and the football players were not dealt with completely until after the season. See where this might go?

KENTON — 1 p.m., Wednesday — Several players have been suspended from the Kenton High School football team, and a Kenton radio station is reporting the suspensions are connected to a string of vandalisms in Hardin County last week.

Kenton schools Superintendent Doug Roberts would only confirm “six, seven or eight” players have been suspended for violating team rules. Roberts did not know how long the players would be suspended.

WKTN 95.3 has reported seven players are suspended in connection with a Hardin County Sheriff’s Office investigation of vandalism of vehicles, mailboxes and lawn ornaments.

Kenton begins its season away Aug. 24 against Coldwater.

Four of the five teenagers involved in a deer decoy prank in 2005 were football players. The teens placed a decoy hunting deer on a road, causing two other teens to be seriously injured in a car crash.

I am tired of hearing how little money we have for infrastructure and how they want to raise taxes. You might also be tired of hearing how much it would cost to secure our border with a fence. It appears that there is never enough money until you decide to just give it away to a government that can’t even control it’s border or border troops so it appears. It is a government that appears to be corrupt. SO why not secure our BORDER FIRST. Then we can give some to to Mexico… yeah… just right after we fix the rest of the bridges with the money.

I like this plan and it doesn’t involve raising taxes. From the Dallas News…

In May, The Dallas Morning News first reported that the two governments were discussing a counternarcotics plan – known informally among some U.S. and Mexican officials as Plan Mexico – that would expand U.S. assistance, now estimated at about $40 million annually.

The plan is aimed at “significantly” enhancing U.S. aid to bolster Mexico’s telecommunications and its ability to monitor its airspace. It also would be used to strengthen training programs for Mexico’s police; train polygraphers to weed out the country’s corrupt federal police force; and provide law enforcement with eavesdropping technologies that would enable them to take on drug traffickers equipped with advanced weapons, electronic monitoring systems and aircraft.

And the aid, which Congress is expected to take up this fall, is critical not only for Mexico, but for securing the U.S. border, officials said.
