Congressman Jordan was in Auglaize County and was able to address public officials there. One of the topics was immigration. An issue we wholeheartedly agree with the Congressman on.
The freshman congressman said he sees two steps toward resolving the illegal immigration problem.
“Step one is to build the fence. The fence works, they’re just not building it fast enough. We can slow it down tremendously,†Jordan, R-Urbana, said. “Step two, don’t grant any kind of citizenship to people who broke the law.â€
It’s a question of political will, Jordan said.
“The political will is not there yet,†Jordan said. “I think the American people are there, but we’ve got to get the government there.â€
It isn’t about whether we can secure the border and deter more from coming illegally… it has been and continues to be one of simple will. It’s time Americans gave the ouster to those who are unable to do the right thing and find the will to push for it. One reason we are watching the young freshman Congressman. We like what we see and hear from him.
