Finally - A Gay Man Charged with a Hate Crime

This whole issue is well “gay”. The press was all over this event. Anthony Fortunato, 21, was accused of chasing down and beating to death Michael Sandy in a robbery. Since Michael “happened to be gay” Anthony was charged with a “hate crime” because everyone knows that non-gays like to chase down gay men, rob them and then beat them to death.

Or so the press seems to put it. That was the whole purpose of hate crime laws… to give unequal protection under the law. A new twist has entered the arena on this event. It turns out that Anthony also “happens to be gay”. So now we have a gay man charged with a hate crime for killing another gay.

Just to prove our point…. Crime is crime. People commit it not because they love one another. So do away with the hate crime (stupid) legislation and charge people accordingly. It matters now what orientation the person who committed the crime is or the one who it was committed against.

(New York Times) One of the defendants accused of killing a gay man in Brooklyn last year because of his sexual orientation offered a startling courtroom revelation yesterday: He, too, is gay.

Kerry’s Leadership In A Crisis - Comforting??

Posted by Conservative Splinter On September - 18 - 2007

I try to picture this event with a Republican speaker and then this happening. Then I look at the news reporting and what I would expect isn’t happening. StoptheACLU wants the ACLU to get involved like they did with the Muslim UCLA student. So I don’t expect the ACLU to do anything.

Expect the ACLU to get involved. I mean it. They hate tasers! When a Muslim UCLA student disrupted a library, fought the cops, and got tasered….CAIR and the ACLU were all over it! Don’t expect anything less this time. Granted, that student was Muslim, but in the ACLU’s war against tasers…you can bet that if they rallied for the kid that deserved a good shock, they’ll be there for this one….that I don’t think really provoked anything.

Michelle Malkin catches something that is actually more interesting than the incident itself. Listen carefully to John Kerry in the background… go listen again. Picture this man in charge of a crisis. It’s laughable.

You know what the lamest part is? Listening to impotent John Kerry’s voice droning apathetically during the entire incident.

ACLU Doesn’t Know What Illegal Is

Posted by Mark On September - 18 - 2007

There is a hot line to call to report illegal aliens. In the meantime the Sheriff has been racially profiled and attacked with “hate speech”.

PHOENIX (AP) - A controversial new hot line that urges people to report suspected illegal immigrants has generated more than 1,800 calls since it was set up in July.

That’s what the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The office says as a result of those calls, deputies have found a couple of drop houses and intercepted at least a half-dozen vehicles carrying illegal immigrants.

Critics argue that the hot line amounts to racial profiling, but Sheriff Joe Arpaio disagrees.

He says the idea is to sift through hot line tips and better spot trends

The ACLU accuses the county in New Mexico of illegal conduct by going house to house to find illegals. Interesting especially since a report that the number of Iraq illegals are being found coming across the border. The caravan of martyrs are coming and the ACLU doesn’t seem too interested in that.

CHAPARRAL, N.M. - Otero County Sheriff’s deputies turned 28 illegal immigrants over to the border patrol on Wednesday, September 12.

They say it’s all part of law enforcement efforts in their area. The American Civil Liberties Union said Sheriff’s deputies from Otero County are irresponsibly policing innocent neighborhoods by knocking on doors and checking identification without cause.

Monday, Otero County Sheriff’s officials explained the roundup. The raids are being conducted by a U.S. Department of Homeland Security program called Operation Stonegarden which gave New Mexico roughly $1.6 million dollars to pay local law enforcement overtime wages to participate in immigration enforcement along the border.

USA Today wants to reduce the will to secure the border

The new fence would be a great deterrent to the steady flow of violent, predator and terror related criminals coming across the border. There is a lot of required repairs that need to be done. But one has to love the quotes given for building or repairing the fence. The private sector and common citizens can out perform the Government at any task for less time and less money. In the meantime the USA Today picks at America’s mindset and will to secure the border.

Note the picture. What a contrast between free Republic of America and the incompetant system that leaves the drug lords in charge and the people in poverty. It’s the picture of the border with the patrol truck overlooking the border.

SAN DIEGO — The battered ribbon of carbon-steel and wire-mesh fencing has divided much of this city from Mexico for more than a decade. It helped inspire the Bush administration’s plans for more than 700 miles of new fencing along the porous, 2,100-mile southwestern border.

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., whose district includes part of the two-layered fence, touts the barricade as virtually impenetrable. “If you get over my fence,” the presidential candidate said this month during a debate in New Hampshire, “we sign you up for the Olympics immediately.”

Border Patrol agent Shawn Moran acknowledges the barrier has cut the flow of illegal traffic into the USA dramatically, but he also suggests Hunter hasn’t seen his fence lately. In spots along the approximately 75 miles of fence from California to Texas, illegal immigrants and drug runners have gashed the barrier repeatedly, often with saws to make holes big enough to squeeze people through.

Keeping the fence repaired has become a constant battle for U.S. Border Patrol and National Guard engineering units, whose work has added an increasingly expensive layer to the cat-and-mouse game between U.S. law enforcement and illegal immigrants. The rising annual maintenance costs — projected to reach $8.3 million a mile by 2016 for more than 62 miles of steel fencing examined by the Congressional Research Service (CRS) — have become a focal point for critics who say the plan to build another 700 miles of fencing will cost too much and won’t be effective as supporters claim.

Lost Gems - Patriot Quotes

Posted by Mark On September - 18 - 2007

Further proof that the founders had no clue on the proper definition of separation of church and state. Some how they just continue to quote Scripture’s wisdom to the application of life. The reference is to an old testament passage where people abandoned all absoluts and became a culture which live by completely subjective values. This was a concern that the founders had for our nation as well.

“[D]emocracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man’s life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable cruelty of one or a very few.”

– John Adams (An Essay on Man’s Lust for Power, 29 August 1763)
