Found this in the Columbus Dispatch at dispatch.com under their politics section. Not surprising, just shows who owns him! Not surprising. Just shows you how far left Sherrod truly is. Does this mean Sherrod Brown is MoveOn.org’s boy toy because he has been bought for the hefty price of nearly $300,000.
Tags: Ohio(Dispatch.com) WASHINGTON — Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio was among 25 Democrats yesterday who voted against a Republican-backed amendment denouncing the liberal organization MoveOn.org for its sharp attack this month on the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq.
Nonetheless, by a vote of 72-25, the Senate approved the amendment asserting that a newspaper advertisement paid for by MoveOn.org “impugns the honor and integrity” of Gen. David Petraeus.
The advertisement, published on the day Petraeus testified before a House committee this month, asked whether Petraeus would “betray us” and charged that he was a “military man constantly at war with the facts.”
Just before the vote, the Senate rejected a Democratic amendment that criticized the advertisement as an “unwarranted attack” on Petraeus. But that amendment, which Brown supported, did not mention MoveOn.org’s name. It also criticized the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth attacks on 2004 Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry.
MoveOn.org, which has emerged as a major supporter of Democrats opposed to the war in Iraq, helped funnel at least $287,623 in contributions from small donors to Brown’s successful 2006 campaign, according to records filed with the Federal Election Commission.
