In 2004 the Congress imposed stricter requirements. It’s just now that they are being enforced? And of course remember the following doesn’t apply to those who don’t use the main routes (like roads).
No tags for this post.[International Reporter] El Paso: October 21, 2007 - The laws for the United States border have been generally loose for years together, the people used to enter the country without any difficulty, particularly Americans returning home from Mexico. Most the people crossed to the United States on false pretexts.
The people entering from the border had a simple procedure and thousands of people were allowed to enter America without any valid Identity Cards, passports or proof of citizenship, the easygoing procedure has been prevalent.
From January, all the people wishing to enter United States shall have to show their proper passports or some other strict proof of their citizenship.
This process shall simply delay the entry at border crossings, the new rule enacted shall tighten the screws of the fake people. In fact, Congress imposed these restrictions in 2004 as part of their anti-terrorism legislation, but these were not strictly followed and the people entered the United States with some cautious. But now it may become impossible to cheat the officers.
