Hate Crime Protection for Everyone!

I suppose the stupidity of hate crimes will not enter the brain of many. So this article on ‘hate crime’ protection coming soon in the UK spurred the thought that maybe we push for protection for everyone. Unless of course you are white or Christian and especially a white Christian.

Hmmm. “Hate Crime Protection”. Isn’t that a little misleading. Hate crimes are charged only after the crime is committed. Shouldn’t it be Hate Crime Justice? That sounds really punitive too. Is this where I purpose “Hate Crime Justice” for children. You molest a child and you will be executed. Think of all the children that would be protected from that creep. But perhaps the molester needs “hate crime protection” from a society wanting to kill him/her.

 

‘Hate’ crimes against the elderly?

Crimes against the elderly could soon be regarded in the same category as racist and homophobic hate crime, it was revealed today.

Lancashire’s Crown Prosecution Service has launched a public consultation on prosecuting crimes against older people, seeking views on how it deals with crimes against the elderly and how it supports elderly victims and witnesses.

It could lead to a change in policy of abuse cases where there is an expectation of trust, whether by family members or paid workers, or where the person is living in an institution.

It will recognise crimes targeted at pensioners because they are perceived as vulnerable or potentially easy to steal from, such as muggings, doorstep theft or rogue traders, as well as crimes motivated by hostility based on their age.

Robert Marshall, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Lancashire, said: “Stopping crimes against older people and bringing perpetrators to justice should be a priority for our society and for the CPS.
