Giuliani “would be” honor bound to uphold 2nd amendment

Top PhotoI find these words very disturbing at best. I know what he intended too communicate but the words betray his past actions. I like Rudy and enjoy hearing him speak. But to say “would be honor bound to uphold the Second Amendment” as President should say something about his core view  and values in reference to the Constitution. Every patriot should have the 2nd amendment as something you support and uphold at every level of service to this nation. Not just when you become President. I would consider myself honor bound to uphold the Constitution in whatever position I held.

To be honest I wonder what words our wonderful Dem Gov. Strickland would have to say about this comment. Equally curious would be Lt. Gov. Fisher who is totally anti-gun. Just wondering.

[Seacostonline] DURHAM — Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani said that he would support the Second Amendment despite his imposition of a ban on semi-automatic handguns while mayor of New York City.

“I used the gun laws aggressively in New York. I had to, and it worked well,” Giuliani said in response to a question asked during a brief campaign stop at Goss International on Monday. “As president of the United States of America, I would be honor bound to uphold the Second Amendment.”

This was not the first time Giuliani had been confronted with his well-known stand on gun control. In an analysis of the former mayor’s position, John Velleco, director of Federal Affairs for the Gun Owners of America Group, indicated Giuliani had tried to extend his vision of gun control to the nation in the 1990s.

Noting the mayor’s current stance that states should have the right to choose whether to control guns and to what extent, Velleco said that position does not jibe with Giuliani’s former positions.

I also find it disturbing this guy claims he would be honored to uphold something that he has never upheld before.

Of course he say’s he’ll uphold the second amendment, the guy’s a compulsive liar that can’t remember what he’s said from day to day. The second amendment means nothing since the Military Commissions Act that was just passed gives the president the power to declare martial law at a moments notice, so police and national gaurd can go door to door and take people’s firearms, just like they did after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. This government is so close to becoming a police state that people better wake up fast. I would recommend voting for Ron Paul, but since the elections and primaries are completely fixed thanks to electronic voting (Diebold) , it really doesn’t matter in the end. It would be good if Guiliani was put in the white house, then we could have another person in the oval office that planned and carried out the events of 9/11.
