This information came to me via email and is from someone active in Richland County politics. The current candidate to run against Congressman Jordan isn’t apparently much of a threat and leaves one wondering if another will replace him closer to the race.

Anyhow, he [Mike Carroll] had no known previous political activity in this county. So unless he moved here specifically to run for Congress, he probably won’t mount any serious campaign or any serious challenge to Jordan. Really, the only feasible impact he could have on the race is if he’s merely a placeholder while the Dems try to recruit either Bill Hartnett or Lydia Reid. Either could almost definitely win Richland County, and are moderate enough to run fairly well in the rest of the district.

Whoever signs up to run against Jordan had better realize they will certainly have to
“run”. Every campaign Jordan has been in, he has outworked his competition. He does well in forums, debates etc, but door to door, he still does things the old fashioned way. If you sign up for this, you’d better bring your track shoes and work boots.
