Incursions have been caught on tape several times including reports that local Sheriff deputies have been outgunned. Prior to this and we have posted a few times about this topic on the border including incursions. News 5 out of Weslaco, TX has obtained through the Freedom of Information Act that shows there have been over 250 incursions by the Mexican Military and/or those dressed in uniform. WESLACO - The Mexican military is crossing the border into the U.S.
That’s according to records NEWSCHANNEL 5 obtained using the Freedom of Information Act. The 29-page document shows the Department of Homeland Security is tracking the occurrences.
It includes sightings of men dressed in Mexican military uniforms. The document states Mexican government personnel crossed the border more than 250 times since 1996. Some of that activity happened in the Rio Grande Valley.
We spoke to farmer and rancher Joe Aguilar. He tells us the threat is too close. Aguilar has had some encounters with armed men. But he adds he’s not sure if the men were members of the Mexican military or people posing as Mexican military.
