Midnight Same Sex Marriages - A rose is a rose and by any other name…
January 2, 2008 |
A rose is a rose and by any other name still a rose. There is no turning back the clock. There is no last minute reprieve of a national marriage protection act that could change it now. Mass. becomes the fourth State now to approve same sex marriages. This time however it is without the pressure of the court and was done willingly. It matters little what you call it the truth be told it is the state approval of sodomite marriages. Welcome to Lots world (his family lived in Sodom and was relations to Abraham in the Bible).
If you understand basic human nature the success of these marriages won’t fare much better than “normal” marriages which indeed have suffered greatly. Which is one reason I still am amazed they have pursued such a course other than to gain “social” approval. With that in mind here is the news.
[Concord Monitor: picture and content] More than 40 couples braved chilly conditions outside the State House last night to be among the first in the state to celebrate a civil union. Shortly after midnight, they walked two-by-two under an archway and into state history.
“We are here to support the right to do this,” said Melissa Leclerc, who was joined last night with her partner of 10 years, Ellie Swiezynski. The Manchester couple read about the State House ceremonies just two weeks ago.
“As soon as I read it, I said, ‘We’re going to be right there,’” Swiezynski said. With them came Leclerc’s sister, Jessica Denmark and friend Deanna Chapman and Swiezynski’s parents.
At midnight, New Hampshire became the fourth state in the country to honor civil unions. But it is the first to take that step voluntarily and without the pressure of a lawsuit. (Vermont, Connecticut and New Jersey have also legalized civil unions. Massachusetts permits gay marriage.)
