Civil Rights Leader Jesse Jackson (seen shaking new elected Lima City Council President John Nixon) calls for the conviction of the officer and sentencing him to death. It isn’t said in those terms but read the headlines and the quotes and you walk away thinking this isn’t much different than the modern day lynching. It’s the very thing Jesse says he as been speaking all about. Justice and equal treatment under that law. Murder charges are very specific and carry with it the possible death penalty. Something I am sure some of the town would love to see happen. Read the headlines and quotes from recent headlines.
One marcher: Marchers demand justice for police killing of mother
“We’re going to be here as often as we can to make a statement. We want them to know you ain’t got long. We want the truth to come out. She was killed, she was murdered. Police was involved
And another article calling for this open and shut case to be quickly resolved with good ol justice.
One protester lobbing profanity at the Ohio AG etc.: Angry Lima residents slam police shooting inquiry; Dann, FBI try to soothe vocal critics
“I want justice. I want answers. I got that right,” Ms. Jennings told him. “This ain’t no unsolved murder. We know who did it.”
Jackson isn’t interested in the findings, probably because he doesn’t need any further information other than someone died and some needs to pay.
Jesse Jackson: Jackson wants officer in Lima to be charged
“There must be deterrents not just for the man who pulled the trigger but for those who planned the raid on her house,”
Jackson has said he hopes to quell anger in the city. He has put the city on notice and it appears that quelling the anger will require the city to sacrifice an officer (whether proven guilty or not). Such rhetoric gets Jackson contributions and lots of attention. There is no disagreement about needing equal justice. I just wonder on what level is he pushing equal justice.
Jesse Jackson: Jackson in Ohio town, hoping to quell anger over shooting
1 of the ministers says Jackson told them they need to turn the shootings into a positive by building bridges.
In the meantime Derry Glen (Democrat) is a prison guard and has failed to report his known contact with a felon. This is illegal and he will now have to hustle to fill out the paper work for his failure. Not only is the drug bust in a home he owns but it appears the felon in the house that was renting is related to him. Oh… this just gets dirtier and dirtier. Question: If Derry Glen knew that this felon (or suspected) that he was doing drugs/selling and didn’t do anything except cover it up, is there any responsibility or justice in that???? For those that don’t know, Derry Glenn is on the City Council and was crying that no one notified him ahead on the raid. Now we know why.
