Clinton, Obama heading to Lima

February 22, 2008 |

Big News for the once dormant activity of big name dems in Lima. They have targeted one of the strongholds of Republican conservatives. Former President Clinton will be speaking Sunday in Lima and the advance team for Obama is coming in on the same day. Gary Frueh, Dem Chairman, is getting more attention than he is used to.

Clinton is stumping hard in Ohio, just 12 days away from the March 4 primary.

Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Whitmer High School Fieldhouse on Alexis Road for the 9 p.m. speech by Clinton. She was in Texas earlier in the day after Thursday’s nationally televised debate with presidential contender, Sen. Barack Obama from Illinois.

Clinton supporters were seen lining up in the 3 p.m. hour for tonight’s debate.

The appearance is part of the senator’s “Solutions For America” rally, where she’s expected to outline some of her plans on issues like healthcare, job creation, and her ideas about how to decrease the country’s dependence on oil.

WLIO has this on the Obama advance team.

Columbus, OH – Barack Obama’s campaign today announced that Sen. Claire McCaskill will campaign for Senator Obama throughout the state on Sunday; meeting with voters to discuss why she believes Obama is the best candidate to deliver change Ohioans can believe in.

Sen. McCaskill will host “Reclaiming the American Dream” events in Dayton Lima and Delaware.
